Francesca Romana Fabris

I am an independent artist singer guitarist songwriter.

Mostly involved in folk music, Irish, Balkan and other traditions, I have been perfoming for years with different bands troughout Italy, France, Portugal and Ireland, when I decided to go back to my original compositions-songs and in 2009 I moved to London, to continue with jazz studies and promoting my original repertoire.

MY SONGS original project

From 2008 I started a new project, writing original songs in a folk-bossa style with large use of improvisation, and I started to promote it in Italy and in London .

I played in some of the best music clubs in London (Icarus Folk club, The Cobden club, Troy bar, Luna Lounge, Troubadour Club, The Halo Bar, Cafè de Paris, Proud Galleries in Camden, Oliver’s Jazz bar, The Gallery Cafè, Jamboree venue, Bar Vinyl Camden, Harrison pub, Spice of Life in Soho,  etc.. ) , France, and all over Italy.

My songs are a mixture of  folk-pop  influenced by latin rhythms, with large use of impro and some jazz arrangements.

I recorded three compilations of original songs: The  EP "Frammenti" in 2010 and the albums "Travelling" (2012) and "So Close to You" (2014).

"Travelling" album has been recorded, mixed and produced in London, all original songs in english and italian, with a quintet of great musicians. Beyond me on vocal and guitar the album features: Nick Walters on Trumpet, Francesco Lo Castro steel andnylon string guitar, Gerry Hunt on steel string guitar, Jack Lowe double Bass, Carlos Fuentes drums, Fedrico Rios hand percussion. Recorded  mixed in London  by Mariano Nunez West. The album has been presented in London and Rome and all over Italy.

In 2014 my third original release: full ten tracks new album, "So Close to You" , all original songs  written, played and arranged by myself.

The album has been recorded and mixed in Rome between March and June 2014 by Roberto Lioli, and beyond me on vocal and guitars it features 8 amazing musicians:
Mario Monterosso dobro, lap steel and electric guitars, Gabriele Buonasorte saxes, Osvaldo Costabile fiddle and bouzouki, Mauro Gavini double bass and electric bass, Mattia di Cretico drums, Antonello Sorrentino trumpet and Emilio Ballatore bodhràn.

songs from this new album have been also included in these UK and US compilations: "You Won't Put Me Down" ;"Falling Down"  and "Rainy Day" in 2015 Factory Fast Record productions (New York); "Fly again" in "the best of Acoustic Cafè Show" 2014 (UK); "Everlasting Dream" in "Irish & Celtic Music" Alabhama 2014 (US); Both the song and music video "Perfect Time" got a special mention and commended entry at UK songwriting Contest 2016; the song "FLY AGAIN" won the BEST FOLK ACT for the on line contest from radio Wig wam (on line radios UK-US-Australia) 2017; the song "Everlasting Dream" got a special mention and higher commended entry at UK songwriting contest 2017; my song "ONDA DI MARE" just won second place in tha National Songwriting competition "festival Cantautori di Biella" (October 2017);
